Mixed Level Egyptian Baladi Dance Workshop
**Shema is back in the country for 5 days only, visiting from Egypt, so don't miss the opportunity to study with us!!**
WHAT IS IT?
A 2 hour workshop with choreography
Focusing on modern BALADI (Egyptian dance from the early C20th)
A structured workshop
... WHO IS IT FOR?
Aimed at all levels from development level up (ie with a good grasp of the basics, through to experienced dancers)
Techniques will be adjusted to each dancer's abilities and advanced options ad techniques given
No age limit!! (min 14+)
Male and female dancers welcome
(not suitable for complete beginners)
WHAT WILL IT INCLUDE?
Introductory section:
this is a refresher for those who attended the 6 week Baladi course, but will also introduce the style to anyone who could not attend.
Techniques
Combination and transition between movement for fluidity and natural movement
Baladi Choreography, including notes and music
(*YES, I know, I usually don't teach choreography ...I believe that the
essence of Middle Eastern dance is in improvisation, BUT, I know many
people are intimidated by this and so this will give you
the tools to approach Baladi, with a practical choreographic application
for you to understand how to put the elements together!)
